a shining light in a dreary world

we live in a world that celebrates the mediocre. be dull and the masses will fall at your feet. draw a line on a page and you are lauded as the artist of the year. where did the split happen? art used to be about talent & effort. art used to take days, weeks, years.... there was a real love of what was being created.

what has inspired this sudden need to stand on a soapbox?

i found in my door a package from DellaMorteArts. i figured she had sent me & my husband an anniversary present, i was right. i figured it was a picture from our wedding that she had taken, i was right.
what i wasn't expecting was a BEAUTIFUL & AMAZING sketch of James & i by AthenaTT.
i am blown away! i just had to share it all with you, these are two amazing deviants. check them out, please, they deserve it!

doesn't this blow your mind? it is SO much cooler in person. it has inspired me to start sketching again.
